SUMMARY:Towards the Moon with Fellini
DESCRIPTION:In 1983\, I began working with world-renowned director Federi
co Fellini. First as an assistant\, then as an actress\, and finally as
a fellow filmmaker\; an opportunity of a lifetime. The privilege to be i
nvited to live and work in his inner circle\, lasted over a decade. \n
 \nAs a result of this remarkable relationship\, I co-produced a one-hour
documentary based on my experience working as an assistant and actress
on Fellini’s final film\, “The Voice of the Moon” (“La Voce Della Luna”)
\, starring Roberto Benigni. The documentary\, entitled “Towards the Moo
n with Fellini\,” was first screened at Paramount Pictures in 2003. The
following year\, it won ‘Best Documentary’ at The Golden Gate Fiction an
d Documentary Festival\, 'Best Foreign Film' at the Beverly Hills Film F
 estival. It screened and was nominated at other prestigious festivals\;
 Sundance\, Mumbai\, Paris\, Seattle\, Chicago\, and Tiburon in 2007. \
n\n\nIn the actual film and subsequent documentary\, I play a young jour
nalist from America who comes to Italy to try and get on the set of Fell
ini’s latest film\, to interview the director and stars\, and find out t
he storyline. In the end\, we discover that Fellini’s film is ultimately
about the unconditional love and trust he gives and receives from his a
doring colleagues. It is this chore message that I feel makes the film s
o very poignant\, and it is one I hope to share with today’s young filmm
akers. \n\n\nKevin Thomas of The Los Angeles Times reviewed the film a
nd wrote\,”…‘Towards the Moon’ is rewarding for anyone who has ever love
d a Fellini film. Here he is in all his glory\, a warm\, patrician prese
nce thriving amid a constant swirl of activity and throngs of people\, k
nowing what he wants and how to get it while one suspects no one else re
ally knows what’s going on.” \n\nIt is for my love of Fellini and his
legacy to the world of cinema that I am currently traveling universities
across the country to screen the film and lecture on my experiences. Th
ese lectures also include a projection of the graphic novel\, “Trip to T
ulum\,” which is the true story of my travels with Fellini to the Yucata
n in 1984 to meet the mysterious author Carlos Castaneda. \n\nI am exc
ited at the possibility to bring the quest for the meaning of Fellini to
you. To that end\, please contact me to receive a DVD screener of the d
ocumentary\, along with my personal biography.

SUMMARY:Our Time
DESCRIPTION:America has questions about today’s youth\, what we care abou
t\, and where\nwe’re headed. We had those questions too. So\, after grad
uating college\, four\nof us loaded an RV and embarked on a journey look
ing for answers. We\ntraveled to all of the lower 48 states\, talking to
  our peers about growing\nup\, 9/11\, race\, the Internet\, careers\, se
x\, love\, and the American Dream.\nAlong the way\, we met a wide cross-
section of young Americans\, ranging from\na cancer researcher in Boston
to a drug dealer in New Mexico\, from an Iraq\nveteran in Florida to th
e founder of Facebook in Silicon Valley. OUR TIME is\na passionate portr
ayal of a generation\, a meditation on coming of age in\n21st-century Am
erica\, and a rallying cry against apathy.

SUMMARY:My Big Break
DESCRIPTION:Filmed over ten years\, this controversial documentary follow
s five roommates trying to make it in Hollywood who face the unexpected
consequences of fame. \n \n\nWhen Tony Zierra\, an aspiring filmmaker w
ith no money\, stars or crew\, resorts to filming the lives of his four
struggling actor roommates\, he never imagines the incredible twists of
fate he would end up capturing on camera. Things take an amazing turn wh
en three of the actors\, Brad Rowe (Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss\, Shel
ter)\, Chad Lindberg (October Sky\, The Fast And The Furious) and Wes Be
ntley (American Beauty\, Ghost Rider) defy astronomical odds and quickly
hit it big. Meanwhile\, the fourth actor\, Greg Fawcett\, is nearly dri
ven insane watching the others get famous. \n\n\nIt doesn't take long
for the unsettling reality of stardom to set in. Lindberg's hope of beco
ming a leading man is crushed when he’s repeatedly told he doesn’t have
the right look\; Rowe ends up typecast as a pretty boy and can't break p
ast his uncanny resemblance to Brad Pitt\; while Bentley\, who has the m
ost explosive career launch in decades\, uneasily retreats from his sudd
en\, overwhelming fame. As the actors deal with life in the public eye\,
Zierra struggles with constant obstacles while he tries to complete his
film - including being scrutinized and blocked by the actors' nervous a
gents. \n\n\nFrom a unique vantage point\, My Big Break explores what
it's really like to become famous and how people are changed forever\, b
ut not necessarily for better\, when their dreams come true.

SUMMARY:Skatopia: 88 Acres of Anarchy
DESCRIPTION:Skatopia: 88 Acres of Anarchy is a feature documentary that f
ollows one of skateboarding’s most infamous underground figures. Pro-ska
ter Brewce Martin is the self-declared “dictator” of a rural Appalachian
skate scene so extreme that MTV’s bad-boy Bam Margera fled the property
on his first visit. The movie follows Brewce for a tumultuous year as h
e struggles to keep Skatopia afloat. Though he declares skating his “pri
me directive”\, the film reveals a fiercely driven entrepreneur determin
ed to achieve success on his own terms.
